We fooled around with over 50 guests on April Fools Day 2023 during our annual Cornhole Tournament at Kettering VFW Post 9927.
It was another successful year for our annual cornhole tournament. This year we grew the tournament from 16 to 20 teams and also increased the number of spectators. Within the crowd, we had Veterans, students, Army ROTC cadets, VSO reps, family, friends, and supporters. The double-elimination, family-friendly event is designed to provide a place to connect socially in between games. The VFW provided plenty of space to eat, drink, and play. Like last year, we took a break around two and a half hours into play to award 15 raffle packages to lucky winners. This break aligns with the first teams being fully eliminated, that way those teams can leave if they wish without missing out on our raffle.
Throughout the tournament, we supplied finger foods, over 50 hot sandwiches from the VFW kitchen, and more than 100 drinks from the VFW bar. We were able to finish the entire tournament in a little over four hours. The final two teams kept things interesting, with the team from the loser's bracket delivering the first loss to the winner's bracket team. As the final game started, both teams had one loss. In the end, LGMABeanBags was able to outlast PP for the first-place win. Congrats to all our teams!
